Non-Bond Projects
Non-bond projects refer to school improvements that are funded through sources other than bond measures. The majority of the money schools receive from the State of California every year supports students, staff salaries and other day-to-day expenses. The state does offer programs that assist school districts with facility improvements. However, these programs require local districts to have “matching funds” of at least 50% of the project cost. It also takes several years for a school district to receive any of those funds.
