NVUSD HAS OPENED THE BOARD ROOM FOR IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION. ONLINE PARTICIPATION IS STILL AN OPTION.
ONLINE MEETING PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS
NVUSD is committed to public input and participation in school district governance in a manner that is consistent with guidance provided by our county public health official and the governor’s office. Starting on March 17, 2022, our board of education will allow for in-person participation by the public in addition to virtual/online participation via Zoom.
Regular business meetings will offer the in-person participation option while board advisory committee meetings will continue to allow for public participation online/virtual only.
If our meetings are held online, they are held in accordance with the open meeting rules in the State of California per Assembly Bill 361. On September 17, 2021, the Governor signed Assembly Bill 361, which expressly extends the flexibility concerning the conduct of public meetings through January 1, 2024. The Governor of California has declared a state of emergency. The Board of the Napa Valley Unified School District adopted Resolution No. 22-04, to make an initial determination that the current circumstances meet the requirements of AB 361 and Government Code section 54953 for the Board to conduct meetings remotely when necessary.
The public can continue to access board meetings remotely and provide public comment remotely at all meetings scheduled until further notice following the current format if they choose not to attend in person.
You can call into the meeting to provide public comment via Zoom. You can join the Zoom Meeting from a computer, mobile device, or tablet. The Zoom meeting information will be provided on the district’s website for every board meeting agenda, as long as needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
