Q. What will my child do all day?
The daily schedule will focus on academic intervention, physical education, and social and emotional development through hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities.
When will I know that my child has been accepted into the program?
You will be notified via email directly from your site provider beginning May 1, 2023.
Q. My child's school is not hosting summer programming. Will transportation be provided if I can't drive them?
Please note summer programming will not be available at all campuses. In preparation for the next school year, our NVUSD Operations team needs sufficient time to clean all classrooms for the new school year thoroughly. As a result, it is necessary to condense programs to a limited number of campuses.
Please note that if no onsite program is offered at your child’s home school and transportation is needed for your child to attend the 2023 summer program, transportation will be offered from the child’s home school site to the summer site only. One morning pick-up time and one afternoon drop-off time will reflect 9 hours. For example, students who need transportation must be at the site by 7:45 am and will be returned to their home school campus by 4:45 pm. Specific pickup and drop-off times will be confirmed and shared upon confirmation of a summer space.
Q. My child’s home school will not offer summer programming. Can I sign up for a preferred site?
If your child's school is NOT hosting summer school, you can contact the provider for your child's school (listed above) and request a specific location--find the email for your provided in their registration application. Final placement will be determined as space allows. This information will be specified in your summer camp confirmation email.
Does my child need to attend 5 days a week for the entire 10-hour day?
Your child will be registered for a 5-day week Monday-Friday full-day schedule, but attendance will not affect your child’s placement in the summer program.
I have a middle or high school student. Are there summer options for them?
You can find information for summer opportunities for grades 7-12 on our Middle and High Summer Programs web page.
Does my child need to bring lunch?
No, meals will be provided. Children are welcome to pack snacks, but lunch and snacks will be offered.
