Dear NVUSD Families,

We did it! It is officially summer break. What a wonderful, successful year for all our students, staff, and families!

As we send you off, I’d like to share a few words from our graduating seniors and their teachers and principals. My hope is their words will inspire you to keep learning and growing this summer!

American Canyon High School Senior Vidita Bhatt: “Each one of you has helped fill this school with love and light, strengthening the beautiful community we have at ACHS and I am confident that you will continue to do so wherever life takes you. This is our world now and we have the power to make it a better place.”

New Tech High School Student Bella Dunmyer: “In my time here at New Tech, I learned so much during my time in class but I learned just as much about life by watching my classmates and friends grow and change. I am proud of how hard I worked in school, but I am just as proud to be taking chances, making mistakes, having once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and learning from every single person sitting in front of me. It has been a privilege to be a part of this class, and you will continue to inspire me to grow every day.”

Napa High School Senior Chloe Dinsdale: “Our journey spent together is coming to an end. For some of us, it is heartbreaking, and for others, it is the happiest day of our lives. Maybe to some, it is both. Regardless, who you became is what you take with you tonight when you walk out of this stadium. So I would like for us all to give thanks. We are still becoming, we will always be, time doesn’t stop. So with that being said, I’m glad I got to spend the time I had here with all of you.”

American Canyon High School Principal Crystal Lopez: “As you move through life, be empathetic and kind. Be curious, seek knowledge, and think critically. Stand up for what is right, and stand up for those who cannot do it for themselves. Remember that, regardless of our current climate, words matter, facts matter, leadership matters, and integrity matters.”

May these thoughts inspire you and guide you through a joyful, restful summer full of learning and growth!

I wish you all the best on your summer journey and look forward to welcoming you back for the 2023-2024 school year in August!

Sincerely,
