Donaldson Way Elementary School Breaks Ground on Campus Multi-Use Facility

NVUSD

Today, the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Multi-Purpose Facility, a significant campus upgrade project at Donaldson Way Elementary School (DWES).

The project, made possible by the generous support of the American Canyon community through the passage of Measure A2, addresses critical needs identified within the school. The new, larger multi-use facility will accommodate the entire school community during gatherings, events, and activities. This comprehensive project will also result in:

  • A state-of-the-art library: The current multi-purpose room will be transformed, offering a revitalized space for reading, learning, and meetings.
  • A more cohesive and functional campus layout: Portable classrooms will be relocated.
  • Vibrant and engaging outdoor spaces: Play areas and landscaping will receive enhancements, providing areas for student learning and growth.
  • A comfortable shaded area: A new structure will be added for students during lunch and outdoor activities.

"This project is a testament to the power of community," stated NVUSD Superintendent Dr. Rosana Mucetti. "It reflects the dedication of our school board, the commitment of our talented staff, the engagement of our involved parents, and the vital backing of our entire community. These improvements underscore our unwavering dedication to providing a safe, modern, and inspiring educational environment for every student."

These improvements also directly align with NVUSD's strategic vision and plan, furthering the district's commitment to cultivating a culture of belonging and improving and maintaining its facilities.

The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2026.
