Donaldson Way Elementary School Named a 2025 California Distinguished School

Donaldson Way Elementary School (DWES) has been honored with the prestigious California Distinguished School Award for 2025 by the California Department of Education (CDE). This remarkable achievement recognizes the school's outstanding student performance, as demonstrated in the 2024 California School Dashboard.

Donaldson Way Elementary is one of just 336 across the state to receive this esteemed distinction this year. The CDE selects Distinguished Schools by thoroughly analyzing data from the annual California Dashboard, specifically recognizing schools that demonstrate exceptional excellence and growth in academic achievement and foster a positive and supportive school climate.

In addition to its overall high achievement, Donaldson Way Elementary was specifically lauded for its significant success in closing the Achievement Gap. The school has demonstrated exemplary growth among student groups that have historically experienced achievement disparities while simultaneously maintaining strong academic outcomes for all students.
