Roadeo Wins

NVUSD Communications

 

Recently, the Transportation Department competed in the California Association of School Transportation Officials Northern Sectional Roadeo. This roadeo was for organizations from Fresno, California to the Oregon border and brought together 73 participants, six from NVUSD.

According to NVUSD School Bus Driver Myron Guzman, “The roadeo is more than just a fun competition, it is an opportunity to practice and enhance our skills, practice working as a team, and it allows us to engage with the greater community.”

The NVUSD team won many awards.

Justin Binion- 7th place Large Bus category
Jaison Galo- 4th place Large Bus category
Kadeem Fortune- 2nd place Large Bus category
Jaison Galo- 1st place Novice category
Myron Guzman, Andres Oropeza, Kadeem Fortune - 1st place Team category

According to Director of Transportation Justin Binion, “The greatest honor was winning the Best Represented award because this award recognizes an organization for its hard work, dedication, positive attitudes, and professionalism. I am very proud of my team because they exemplify these traits each day. They represented our department and our school district very well.”
