Welcoming Transformative Principals to Our Schools for the 2023-2024 School Year
Arizbeth Corro joins Napa Valley Language Academy (NVLA) as principal, bringing determination, commitment, and passion to NVLA. Principal Corro returns to NVLA with prior administrative school experience, most recently serving as the Migrant Education Program Coordinator. She also has experience as Assistant Principal, and Academic Specialist/ELD Coach at Shearer Elementary School and over 13 years of Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teaching experience at NVLA. She has been serving the Napa Valley Unified School District as a bilingual teacher and site/district administrator since 1999. She is a product of NVUSD and is excited to give back to her community. As a first-generation college graduate, Ms. Corro’s wide breadth of experience in various leadership roles and knowledge of DLI instruction is a great asset to NVLA.
West Park Elementary is pleased to welcome Principal Kate Linneman to campus this fall. Katharyn "Kate" Linneman has 14 years of experience as a teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. Principal Linneman comes to us from West Contra Costa Unified School District, where she has served as an Early Literacy teacher leader at the site and district level for the past three years. She also worked extensively with her site principal to gain valuable, day-to-day administrative experience, preparing her for this next step. Ms. Linneman is warm, outgoing, and has a fun side that students and families are sure to love.
Meshach Osborne joins Browns Valley TK-8 School as principal. A Bay Area native and Napa resident for many years, Principal Osborne has worked in NVUSD since 2004. He began his career as a PE Teacher at Harvest Middle School and then served in the same role at American Canyon High School and Redwood Middle School. In 2020, he stepped into the Assistant Principal role at Harvest Middle School, where he was tasked with creating and maintaining a positive school climate. Most recently, he has been Assistant Principal at American Canyon Middle School (ACMS), where he honed his leadership skills - creating the Safety Patrol Program on campus as well as the Merit Restoration Program. He is known at ACMS for his team-building talents - notably, his ability to encourage collaboration and cooperation among staff, students, and families; his strong communication skills, his commitment to follow through and follow up; and for empowering others to achieve excellence and perform at an optimal level. He comes from a family of educators and believes strongly in fostering inclusive environments and respecting all learners.
As the Interim Principal of American Canyon High School for the 2023-2024 school year, Andrew Goff brings over 27 years of Napa Valley Unified School District teaching, coaching, and administrative experience. Mr. Goff has been working in NVUSD since 1996 and has experience teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He has served ACHS as a teacher and instructional coach for seven years, followed by his most recent position as Assistant Principal for the past six years. As Assistant Principal he has gained extensive experience with master scheduling, assessment, student discipline, WASC accreditation, and instructional oversight of a variety of programs.
Willow Elementary Principal Ginger Dunne is highly skilled and draws on over 27 years of experience as a site administrator and teacher leader. She has spent the past three years at Willow and is excited to be stepping up into the Principal role. She has the background and skill set to continue to guide and support the Artful Learning Program. Her experience developing and implementing engaging magnet theme units will enhance her instructional leadership. Ginger is well known for her warmth and generosity of spirit. She is a collaborative and supportive educator. She looks forward to continuing to serve the community and establishing strong relationships with Willow students and families.
Ann Vallerga begins as the principal of Silverado Middle School. Principal Vallerga began her teaching career in Napa at New Tech High School, where she quickly became a teacher leader and took on a variety of roles, including literacy coach, PLC leader, TOSA, and WASC Coordinator. After serving New Tech for nine years, she temporarily relocated to Walla Walla, Washington where she served at Innovation Charter School as Dean of Curriculum & Instruction, Title IX Coordinator, and ML Coordinator followed by Lincoln High School where she taught English. Upon her return to Napa, Anne recently served as Assistant Principal at Camille Creek High School. Anne has proven herself an experienced professional and a leader widely recognized for her expertise, composure, and resourcefulness. Please join me in congratulating Anne on her new position as we welcome her to Silverado and back home to the NVUSD!
