"I have greatly enjoyed the couple of meetings that I have attended during this semester... I am already appreciative of the ideas and support being provided by this network. It makes beginning a garden a lot less daunting when one sees what others are accomplishing.  Working the neglected soil and planting our first crops. Already, 'I don't want to' is changing to 'Can we work in the garden?'"

~Russell Grindle, Valley Oak High School

Napa Valley School Garden Network is a dedicated group of educators, parents, volunteers, students and community members that support and encourage educational and therapeutic gardens on every school campus in Napa County.  We actively pursue opportunities to provide our schools with all the benefits of school gardens, including a sense of the interconnectedness between individuals, the community and our environment.

Our vision is for every school to have a garden where children and the community can relax, learn and connect with nature.  We work together to further our knowledge (through training programs and Master Gardener workshops), organize and share resources (through regular meetings and virtual communication), and support each other as colleagues (through collective impact).

The NV School Garden Network has partnered with the Center for Nonprofit and Volunteer Leadership to bring you Adopt-a-Garden! This program provides an online interface for scheduling and recruiting volunteers for garden maintenance work days.

Contact Louann Talbert at or visit Adopt-a-Garden for more information.
