Advanced Learner Programs & Services

Accelerating student learning, achievement and access

ALPS logo

Advanced Learners Programs & Services (ALPS) is the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program at NVUSD. ALPS supports the educational needs of all students, including students with learning challenges who are Twice Exceptional (2e). Using district-adopted curricula and focusing on student strengths, we assist teachers in providing differentiated, rigorous, and accelerated experiences during the school day.

Advanced Learner Programs and Services leverages ALL students' strengths and passions to keep them engaged in the learning process, in support of NVUSD's Strategic Plan Goal #1: Student Learning, Achievement and Access.

By developing responsive partnerships with teachers and families, ALPS supports students to go beyond surface level understanding of concepts and enhance their ability to critically think, be creative and persevere.

In partnership with Willow Elementary School we are delighted to announce that the 2019 ALPS Winter Academy for grades 3, 4 and 5 is NOW open for registration.
