Arts Integration/Artful Learning School
Willow Magnet School is an arts integration school and a leadership model for the Artful Learning Organization. Artful Learning was developed by the Leonard Bernstein Center and is designed to integrate the arts and the artistic process into the daily classroom experience. Students participate in integrated units based on a master work of a visual or performing artist which provide opportunities for inquiry and connections across content areas like literacy, science, social studies, and math. Willow partners with local artists and organizations that provide a wide array of art experiences in both visual and performing arts. Each grade level holds events for students to showcase their original art pieces and performances and the annual school musical is a highlight for all students and families at Willow.
