Career Technical Education (CTE)

The Career Technical Education (CTE) program offers students hands-on, real world experince within specific industry pathways at each high school. CTE students engage directly with local industry partners through job shadows and workplace tours, using career-specific equipment to prepare for high-demand fields.

Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) is dedicated to preparing students for success in school, careers, and life. While Career Technical Education (CTE) has long been a part of our curriculum, NVUSD has spent the last few years strategically refining and focusing our programming in-house. This evolution ensures that district resources are concentrated on high-value pathways that align directly with high-demand, high-wage careers.

Through the hands-on, real-world experiences available at every high school through CTE, students engage directly with local industry partners and career-specific equipment. Importantly, these courses are designed for all students, requiring no prior knowledge while fulfilling both high school graduation and UC A-G requirements.

By participating in CTE, students don't just prepare for the future; they can also get a head start by earning college credit, obtaining industry-aligned certifications, and, for some pathways, accessing dual-enrollment transitions to Napa Valley College.
