Information Technology recently updated NVUSD's Single Sign-On Page (SSO). You may have noticed a slightly different-looking login page. Many of you also got a notification from OKTA that a new sign-on was detected for your account. This notification will be sent to when you log on to your NVUSD mail from a new computer or device.

Some of you have noticed that the sign-in details look incorrect -- ignore the OKTA account username referring to user@nvusd.k12.ca.us. Also note that the location information is not precise to where you happen to be at the moment you sign-in.

Please remove old bookmarks to District g-mail. Then go to https://mail.google.com enter your NVUSD email address, and it will redirect you to our Single Sign-On Page shown above. Once this happens you can create a new bookmark.

The important thing to know is that the "New Sign-On Notification" email will help better protect your email from being compromised.  Remember that the notification from OKTA will be sent to you anytime your email is accessed on a new device.

  • The Help Desk is your first resource for technology problems. Our techs will try to resolve your technology issue over the phone. If a site visit is required, a service ticket will be created and a tech dispatched. All initial contact should be over the phone so we can evaluate and resolve the situation most effectively.​

  • The Help Desk is designed to help resolve immediate problems. If you already know that you need a tech to come to your site, please create a service ticket instead (using School Dude).​

  • This service is offered to NVUSD staff members only. Please do not have students call -- not even on behalf of a staff member.

Want to make Chromebook applications (including student testing) run better? Technology needs your help! We all need to turn off our Chromebooks once a week -- students, staff, everyone. 

Enter..."Shut Down Fridays." Every Friday, let's turn off our Chromebooks so that they will update. It's easy to do!

Simply click the power button that displays on the lower left side of the screen if nobody is signed in to the the device. If a user is signed in, they need to click the little picture in the lower right of the screen and then click the power button. That's it! The Chromebook will do the rest.

If we could all celebrate Shut Down Fridays for classroom  Chromebooks, Chromebooks that go home with students, and those Chromebooks in carts, all applications (especially testing) will run much better.
