NVUSD employees are able to access telemedicine for the treatment of work injuries. Telemedicine enables a clinician to treat a patient at remote location through the use of technology. It’s an easy option for employees to get the care they need while minimizing the time away from their work site.
Employees should still follow our existing procedures following a work injury by immediately reporting it to their Supervisor. For emergencies, the employee should call 911 for immediate treatment and then contact Company Nurse triage following treatment. For non-emergencies, the employee/supervisor should call Company Nurse, who will determine whether first aid advice or a medical referral is required. If the work injury is appropriate for telemedicine, Company Nurse will offer this option to the injured employee.
Concentra, the nation’s leading provider of occupational health services, will be providing our telemedicine care. The Concentra Telemed platform lets workers talk with a clinician on their smartphones or computers. Employees will be able to access Concentra Telemed via the Concentra Telemed app (available on the app store, for Android and iPhone) on their mobile device or via ConcentraTelemed.com from a computer.
